Five professional photographers will have three days to shoot and edit a 3-5 minute slideshow that showcases the best of backcountry skiing and snowboarding in the Jackson Hole. Shows will be presented in front of a crowd during the first ever Arc’teryx Backcountry Academy on Saturday, February 10th at The Pink Garter Theatre in Jackson Hole.Â
Zoya Lynch is an award-winning lifestyle and action sports photographer based in Revelstoke BC. She has earned recognition for her work with commercial contracts and featured photos in several reputable publications in the action-sports and travel industries. She was the winner of the 2014 Arc’teryx Deep Winter Photo Challenge in Whistler, BC.
Always visually inspired, Andy began documenting the world around him as a way of sharing his adventures with family and friends. He made his transition into photography after years as a professional mountain guide for Exum Mountain Guides in Jackson, Wyoming. Through his climbing ability he was able to access remote locations with a camera firmly in tow, setting the stage for his photography and cinematography work on mountains around the globe, beginning with a three month project on Mount Everest with National Geographic in 2012. He has since found himself anywhere from the sparkling waters of Tahiti to the tops of peaks in Kazakhstan and everything in between. Â
A veteran in the world of outdoor photograpyhy, Adam Barker hails from the mountain metropolis of Salt Lake City, UT. Specializing in active lifestyle, outdoor and travel photography, Barker has traveled the globe capturing five-star imagery from Southeast Asia to Antarctica. His work has appeared on countless magazine covers and editorial features within the skiing, flyfishing and general outdoor genres including publications like Powder, SKI, Skiing, The Flyfish Journal, Outside Magazine, Men’s Journal and many more.
Fredrik Marmsater is an outdoor adventure photographer specializing in shooting in remote locations, and capturing athletes pushing their limits. From expedition skiing to long trail runs, getting into beautiful and seldom-seen locations and bringing back fresh images is the trademark of his photography. Fredrik's work can be found in the pages and ads of editorial and commercial clients from around the world.
Chris is a professional Photographer based in Jackson, WY since 1994. A former hotshot firefighter in Alaska and longtime Exum Mountain Guide in the Tetons, "Figs" has used a rare mix of grit and skill to capture images of mountain athletes from Jimmy Chin to Jeremy Jones in locations from Greenland and the Andes to Alaska and the Himalayas. Between trips, his favorite off-the-clock pastime is fly-fishing and spending time with his wife and two kids, (not necessarily in that order).Â
